About These Images

These images are part of my current body of digital work, which utilizes a simplified vocabulary of flat-colored geometric shapes. There is no computer program that spits these images out. Each square and each circle are individually created and colored in the computer. I’m fascinated by how the eye comprehends an image and how images can be deconstructed and transformed into purely abstract rhythms and patterns upon close viewing, yet resolve into full clarity at farther distances. These images encourage the viewer to play with how they see the work, forcing them to move in and out and squint in order to comprehend it from its close-up abstracted state to its distant resolution.
